This is Steph who has been on the scene since I got to Hobart and calls herself my granny. Whatever! She’s usually the one who clears my “inside dirt,” rattles the edible box around & turns the tv on for a bit to make sure I don’t miss out on the day’s “bold & the beautiful” episodes when the usual mysteriously disappear from time to time. She actually has a cat, apparently, Molly or something. You wouldn’t know it though - She doesn’t bring any foreign hair into the house (which is fine with me as it saves me from the annoying task of re-scenting the house), and she’s all over me all the time as if she wishes she has a cat but cant so visits people with cats. I’ve heard Melanie gossip that Molly is just a figure of Steph and Erin’s imagination, a ghost who lurks behind the spare mattress and inside arm chairs. Erin is some kind of cat psychologist and it freaks me out, I’m used to being the one analysing. But at least it helps the human residents to understand how to make me work for them ;) whisker-shake to Erin. Oh yeah, and he’s made Paulo a less boring “cat owner” as they call themselves, I don’t think he’s had cats before. He’s not very patient.
Then there is Arthur who never says “dance” properly. Apparently he is something called “south african”. As I am multilingual I can understand but Melanie obviously can’t because she always gives him funny looks and then when she realises what he has said she corrects him. I should be a translator but that would just impinge on my tree climbing ad fence jumping expedition time.
To the left is Emma. Her visits are very random but she's nice. and she likes butterflies :)
Amanda and Edgar are also always on the scene, especially Edgar. Amanda always talks about Maxi all the time though. I’ve never met him but I have heard enough about him. And as Amanda is always bringing his hair into the house I can tell he’s one of those Fressa inside bred cats. Not wild tough farm cats like me. I guess when you live in Hobart you get that.
Kate and Nick are also always bringing in their own cat’s hair and talk about their cat called “Pablo”. I am curious to meet these cats but apparently cats around here like their own space. I’ve been told Pablo would eat me. I’m sure they’re exaggerating. Nick picks on him a lot so I feel sorry for him despite what I’ve heard.
I have come to know quite a few people that talk like Papi (and not just in the try-hard accent Melanie puts on). Well there’s Edgar
but we already introduced him. As always, he’s always around. Now there is Adrian, Marta and Mateo. Papi must really love Mateo because he keeps accidentally calling me Mateo all the time. I am convinced he must be the coolest of our friends because he’d have to be to remind Papi of me al the time.
We’ve had a few other random visits and things called babies come round which has been fun, Babies are so much bigger than kittens but develop so much more slowly. They are obviously inferior growing mechanisms no wounder humans are no where near as close to discovering the meaning of life than us cats. All you need is 30mins a day to eat, 4 hour a dato play and 18 hours to have a siesta! Its amazing how they are yet to get it!
