4 OCTOBER = MY FIRST B'day

An earth year old! I am well aware that in Cat terms 1 year is not relevant to the growth and maturity but hey, the rent payers are intent on making a fuss, so, 1 year it is! It was so fun, but, the humans sure go a bit spaz about it. For Starters, Mel came home later than she was supposed to with a heap of wood pieces, nails, glue, and started cutting up the mat we've had rolled up in teh corner for a million years. aparently it's a "scratchy post" its still in the works so I guess we'll find out what that is sometime soon. Mel has been going on about a scratchy post thing in a low voice (so i cant hear) for ages and I heard papi saying she couldnt get the $95 one as it was a waste of money and he could make one and according to Mel we'd be waiting till next Earth B'day for that to happen.

When Mel come home and let me out I decided to keep her company while she was making this scratchy thing and do the "family thing" instead of running off to my usual spots in the neighbour's gardens and junkyards and spend time with her and papi for the day.

Later on Steph and erin came round and, for some reason, Mel had to hold me in the human-nap room while they giggled in the main room. Then i had to come out so they could turn the light in and sing happy birthday with a "present" and a mountain of food shaped like a cake full of cat food and these delicious fish shaped crunchy pieces over the top. I LOVE wet food but those crunchy fish were sooooooo nice i just picked those off and left the rest for tomorrow. Plus, I'd already had a belly full of wet food a few hours earlier.

Anyway, Steph and Erin's "present" was the best. They tied a mouse toy to a balloon which sticks to the ceiling so when i hunt it and play with it it goes back up so I can hunt it and play with it again.... annnnnnd, the scratchy present i'll report on in the following days - aparently that's my present from the rent payers'.
